Sustainable Innovation

Maison Ruinart - étui seconde peau - PUSTERLA 1880

Maison Ruinart’s brief was to solve four challenges: to find a technology that allows the case to fit the shape of the bottle, to make the case impermeable to light, to ensure the case protects the wine until it is tasted, and to have a totally eco-designed packaging. A new technique was developed to enrich the cellulose pulp with a natural metal oxide that reinforces the opacity of the second skin. The jury thought this innovation was "unquestionably a great success".
