These quick-fire, 30-minute talks bring the best designers, innovators and thinkers in the packaging development world straight to your desktop to give you inspiration for your next packaging project.

Nick Dormon of design agency Echo discusses how sustainable packaging design needs to be developed hand-in-hand with a consumer communications piece to bring the consumer along on the journey. In the talk, he will look at how designers can nudge consumer behaviour using new benefits and human biases; how acting on autopilot can be disrupted by gamification and sensorial stimulation; and how mass consumption can be countered by personalisation, ownership and personal responsibility.    

Paul Jenkins of ThePackHub discusses the growing trend for refillable and reusable packaging formats and how brands and retailers are using the technology to drive their sustainability agendas – as well as sharing agenda-setting case studies in the market.

Martin Stahel of Zappar leads an interactive exploration of the opportunities that augmented reality can bring for brands and shares some of the best examples of how major brand owners are using AR to build engagement with consumers.

Nick Vaus of brand agency Free the Birds explores the new trends and opportunities in FMCG packaging design as the shift to direct-to-consumer and e-commerce retail channels accelerates.

Rob Hollands of ‘agency of things’ SharpEnd brings insight on the concept of the connected consumer and how brands are combining creativity and technology to engage consumers through connected packaging.

Sébastien Ehret of Paris design agency Servaire & Co explores approaches to brand storytelling through design, drawing on case studies from across the luxury and premium market.
