Induplast Packaging Group replaces Carbon Black with new infrared-visable pigment

The new pigment is recognised by the NIR

Induplast Packaging Group has replaced Carbon Black – which was not visible to the optical scanners used to sort plastics during recycling – with a new black infrared-visible pigment which can be recognised by the NIR (Near Infrared) detectors installed in waste sorting plants.

This means that Verve’s black packaging can be recognised, recycled and used for new products, extending the lifecycle of plastic.
