Student Q&A I Ines Ferreira Oliveira gives us her opinion on the future of packaging
The professionals of tomorrow give us their vision of packaging and their experience at ADF&PCD and PLD Paris through an exclusive interview with Ines Ferreira Oliveira, a student at ESIREIMS school.
What is your dream pack?
The packaging of my dreams would undoubtedly be something innovative and ambitious compared to anything we’ve seen before. It would have to be in total transparency with the product it contains and it would have to stand out from the competition in terms of its shape, design and the materials used to design it. A packaging that is both timeless and in touch with the current trends that would make a lasting impression is a dream pack for me.
How do you see the future of packaging in the years to come?
I think that packaging still has a bright future ahead of it. Whether one is for or against it, it is an indispensable means of protecting, transporting and selling the product it contains. Packaging must not disappear, it must simply adapt, reinvent itself to be in harmony with the times. For example, environmental issues are pushing those working on the development of packaging to make it more ecological and sustainable so that the impact of the packs end life is as low as possible.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time and why?
I have always been passionate about cosmetics and I hope to work in this sector which fascinates me so much – maybe even as a Project Manager in Packaging Development. Whether in a well-known company or with a subcontractor, as long as I work in the Packaging Research and Development department in cosmetics, everything suits me.
