NEW PLD Innovation Awards launch to celebrate the best in premium drinks packaging
ADF&PCD and PLD Paris has announced the launch of the PLD Innovation Awards, a new awards programme that will highlight and celebrate the best packaging innovations for premium drinks including wine, spirits and premium soft drinks.
The PLD Innovation Awards will take place for the first time in 2021 following the success of the first edition of the PLD event in 2020. It is managed by the team behind ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2021, the world’s leading event for packaging innovation for beauty products, premium drinks, aerosols and dispensing systems.
The Awards aim to identify and reward the best innovations in premium and luxury drinks – from wines and spirits to beers, ciders and soft drinks – that have been launched on the market in the last 12 months.
Christelle ANYA, Community & Content Director, comments: “The Innovation Awards have been a key pillar of our event each year since the first edition of PCD in 2001. They are a showcase for innovations that are recognized and valued by industry and by decision makers at the key brands. These innovations in the beauty, luxury, drinks and FMCG markets provide companies exceptional recognition and visibility. This year, we also enjoy to extend these Awards with the PLD Innovation Awards. We will also display, for the first time, a gallery of the 2021 Innovations Awards’ finalists”.
The ADF&PCD and PLD Innovation Awards aim to show the amazing work done by brands and suppliers to innovate each aspect of their packaging, from technical and material aspects to aesthetic and sensorial considerations. They encourage the industry to push the limits of creativity and to drive new technical developments to meet packaging challenges driven by consumer, supply chain or sustainability demands. Together, the three awards programmes recognise and celebrate the world’s most innovative solutions for beauty, aerosols, dispensing systems and premium drinks packaging.
Winners of the PLD Innovation Awards will be selected by a jury of packaging experts at some of the most influential and well-known brands in the market including Rémy Cointreau, Pernod Ricard and Coca-Cola, as well as packaging design experts and journalists from the drinks press.
They will look for packaging that demonstrates technical innovation (materials, gestures, consumer experience, process, eco-design and sustainability, visual impact, etc.) in their respective categories.
