ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 shortlisted for prestigious industry award

The record-breaking 2020 edition of ADF&PCD and PLD Paris has been shortlisted for a prestigious international events industry award.

The AEO Excellence Awards are awarded by the UK’s Association of Exhibition Organisers, the leading trade body for event organisers like Easyfairs, the organiser of ADF&PCD and PLD Paris.

ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 has been shortlisted in the ‘Best International Show – Europe’ category.

It is part of a shortlist of eight events including two others that may be familiar to the packaging and cosmetics communities: the label technology show Labelexpo Europe 2019, which took place in Brussels, and the cosmetics ingredients event in-cosmetics Global 2019, which took place in Paris.

2020 was a breakthrough year for ADF&PCD and PLD Paris. Attendee numbers at the event topped 10,000 for the first time, while the event attracted more than 650 exhibitors and visitors from more than 1,600 brand owners and more than 80 countries.

The event also saw the launch of PLD – Packaging of Premium & Luxury Drinks, a new addition that brought a new audience of packaging purchasers from the wine, spirits and premium beers and soft drinks markets to the event seeking inspiration for their next packaging project.

Innovation across sectors

PLD’s launch brought a new dimension to the event and underlined its long-standing positioning as a forum for technology transfer and innovation in packaging across the closely-aligned communities it serves: aerosols and dispensing systems at ADF – Aerosol & Dispensing Forum, perfume and cosmetics in PCD – Packaging of Perfume, Cosmetics & Design and the international drinks community at PLD.

It also featured three Talks theatres in each of the events, bringing new knowledge and inspiration from industry-leading speakers to audiences in each of the markets.

Meanwhile the event facilitated new connections in the industry through networking parties, a new Cocktail Bar and the VIP and Ambassador Lounges at the event.

Josh Brooks, event director, said: “It is wonderful to have this sort of recognition from our colleagues in the event industry.

“But we could not have achieved the success of the show this year without the incredible hard work of our exhibitors, our speakers, and our media and association partners who make it all possible, and the support of the many major brand owners who send their teams to our event. We’re very proud to work with this fantastic community and I’d like to thank everyone involved in the show.

“And of course, I am delighted for all of the team here at Easyfairs and would like to thank every one of my colleagues who worked so hard to bring the community together so successfully in Paris this January.”

Winners of the AEO Excellence Awards will be announced on 4 December 2020 in London.
